JON POTVIN

Managing Director

As the Managing Director of District Capital in Grand Rapids, MI, Jon Potvin, will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from his previous leadership roles.

While starting his career in residential mortgage lending, he created an origination team that consistently ranked in the top 10% of producers nationwide.

Jon then went on to become the Vice President of Business Development for a mechanical contracting firm that had more than 250 employees and over $50M in revenue per year.

The last 7 years, Jon served as the Managing Director at Colliers West Michigan. While at Colliers, he led them to record setting years in gross revenue and EBITDA. During his tenure at Colliers, Jon helped Colliers expand their footprint in West Michigan. Jon was active in recruiting top talent to Colliers which in turn led them to expanding outside of Grand Rapids to open new offices in Holland, Traverse City, and East Lansing.

Jon’s passion lies in fostering excellence and cultivating trust and respect not only within the organization he’s associated with but also throughout the greater business community. He is committed to driving success, and he takes immense pride in the journey of growth and achievement while ensuring his clients' needs are his top priority.

Jon graduated from Calvin University, formerly known as Calvin College. He graduated with a Business Degree. His decent GPA was likely due to him playing point guard on the 2000 Men’s National Championship team.

When Jon isn’t busy at work, he’s staying active at home with his wife Cricket, and 3 kids, Owen, Lucy, and Quinn. While he was ‘allegedly’ a good athlete in the past, he’s dealing with one fake hip and staring down the barrel of another hip replacement. Shooting hoops, playing golf, enjoying the pool or the lake with his family and friends are his most favorite things to do.
